What is tastemakers?
Tastemakers is a culinary community offering monthly competitions, progressive scoring systems and chances to showcase your skills locally and globally.
How much does it cost?
It’s $69 per month, which includes free shipping of your tastemakers mystery box. It comes with ingredients for two or more adults.
How do I join?
Simply sign up, complete your profile and ensure your payment details are up to date.
Who can join?
Tastemakers is open to all food enthusiasts in Auckland, regardless of skill level.
Can I cancel any time?
Absolutely. It just means you won’t be able to compete in the opted out months. Tastemakers must be opted in for at least 6 months to be eligible for tastemaker of the year.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes! Just make sure you reactivate your account before the 1st of the month to be included in that month's competition.
How are winners selected?
Monthly submissions are ranked using our innovative scoring system based on creativity, presentation and adherence to competition guidelines. Experienced and verified tastemarkers will rate your dish based on:
Creativity /5
Use of ingredients /5
Presentation /5
The X factor /5
An additional .25 points will be added to any tastemaker who shares their dish on social media.
What staples can I use in my dish?
There is a full list of staples that can be downloaded here. Basically if it’s usually in your pantry or fridge, it’s fine to use.
Who are the tastemarkers?
If we told you, they’d be everyone's best friend in a week! For their own sanity, they are anonymous foodies with a passion for everything delicious.
Can I dispute my rating?
If you believe that your ranking or rating was unfair, you can dispute it within 5 working days after you received your rating. Our tastemarkers are experienced in ranking dishes, but do get it wrong every now and then.
What are tastebuddys?
Tastebuddys are your groups. This is where you can have a group of friends, your family, colleagues or even your netball team can have your own private tastemakers competition. All of your dishes will be added to your group and you can see how you stack up against your tastebuddys. You’ll also compete as a team and see how your groups average score stacks up against other tastebuddy groups.
How do I get my friends to join?
You can easily send them the link to sign up as a tastemaker and join you as one of your tastebuddys.
